It’s time for Liverpool Pride, and for those of us who prefer a seated affair can pop over to Liverpool’s famous waterfront to be serenaded by the world-class 32 piece orchestra that has bobbed on over to perform. Headliners include none other than Scissor Sisters legend and fan of a good KiKi Jake Shears.

With games provided by the organisers as well as the chance to bring your own, it’s a perfect space to meet like minded folk and have a gay old time.

York Trans and Non-Binary Forum Open Mic
Arguably the prettiest city in the UK, York is hosting a one of a kind night for fans of all things Open Mic. From poetry to spoken word, comedy to drag, whatever you can muster up and perform you’re more than welcome to at this free event in the city centre. Hosted by Linda from HR (sure!) it’s set to be a safe and engaging evening for everyone to attend.

A designated event for the ‘soft gays’? Sign me up! For those who want to relax in safety, nature and community - Pride Unwind is a space for queer artists, makers and friends to rest and heal post pride. With songs around the campfire promised, as well as crafts, activities and food, it’s sure to be a chance to celebrate in peace with old friends or new amongst the greenery.

For the over 50s, this beautiful event has been organised by the LGBT Foundation’s Pride in Ageing programme, and combines networking, a sexual health discussion and Q&A as well as archive screening of the beginnings of Manchester Pride. Housed at HOME Manchester, it’s the perfect combination of community education, togetherness and entertainment.

Celebrating the nude queer body, this two hour class is committed to inclusivity for both attendees and models, intended to allow everybody to focus on learning how to become the best artist they can be. The cafe itself remains open throughout for all to enjoy so you’ll never be without drink in hand. Just make sure you don’t accidentally drink your paint water…

Perhaps the best name I have ever heard for ANYTHING gay related in my life, the Gay City Bowlers are a nationwide LGBTQ+ Ten Pin Bowling group that are bringing community to the lanes. With social events happening across the UK, find yourself some queer community (and fun shoes of course) at one of their social meet-ups across July and August. Despite the name, all LGBTQ+ folk are welcome. You’ll play two games, and hopefully you won’t be the only one using the ramp.
