Why I'll Never Watch Real Housewives or Love Island Again
Call me crazy but sitting in the bath watching heterosexual millionaires argue isn't entertainment or relaxing - it's repulsive
Look, I get it. This might be contentious, especially with a large subset of the gay community who love nothing more than jumping onto Hulu and watching a myriad of rich women discuss their ghostly marriages or where they’re going to be hosting their monthly ‘botox and burgers’ party. But as time continues to pass I can’t hold my tongue anymore, and it’s time for me to come clean as to why I’ll never watch a second of the show that has captured the attention of so many across the world.
You might be thinking Jamie isn’t this your Superbowl? All of your favourite things rolled into one? You love reality TV don’t you? Famously you used to watch Big Brother every year as a child and even auditioned to be on the show in 2016, narrowly missing out on being in the house with Jane off of ‘ARE YOU ON DRUGS?’.
The simple answer? Yes. It does look like something that I would thoroughly enjoy, and to use a reality TV adage, ‘on paper’ watching housewives from different parts of America shop, bitch and cry would potentially be something I would happily risk my life for.
But I just can’t, and here’s why.
